Mr Bing Crosby was the epitome of the cool jazz artist when he starred in the film High Society late in his career. But before this he was extraordinary well known for a string of successful movies and music hits.
Borin in 1903 and dying in 1977, he got his start after he was spotted in 1925 by the Whiteman organisation while he was singing to support himself in Los Angeles. After successfully touring with whiteman, he luanched a jazz solo career with Ole Man River.
In 1932 he starred in his first movie, the Big Broadcast, which was the first of 79 films he starred in.
But he is best known for his music which inlcudes the following:
- White Christmas
- Pennies from heaven
- Brother, can you spare a dime?
- Swinging on a star
- Pistol Packin’ Mama.
